Home Our Letter Cruise Info Video Contact Us Registry Q and A's

Hello everyone,

We have had some people ask us why we decided to have our wedding so far away from everyone. When we thought about what type of a wedding we wanted we had a few things in mind that lead us to do this. Most importantly we wanted something intimate and on the beach. Initially we thought of flying the family to Sicily, but obtaining a marraige license in a foreign country is incredibly difficult and we needed something that would be recognized within the U.S. So our next option was Hawaii and we could not have thought of a better way then taking a cruise there. This option became incredibly difficult as the cruising schedules in August of 2008 were very limited. So we chose to go to the Caribbean. We wanted to not only celebrate our wedding, but the coming together of two families. We thought spending a week together on a cruise would allow us to do so.

We know this option poses problems for people as we anticipated this. We also see it as a way for family and friends to take a vacation and attend a wedding. We designed it that way. Hopefully you will be able to join us. If that is not the case then please accept our apologies. We understand it was a difficult situation to begin with.

As for this website. We thought it would be a good idea to set up it up for our family and friends to find answers to their questions and stay updated as the wedding date gets closer. You will find tons of information on here and on the links we provided. If you can not find an answer to your question please send us an e-mail. As of now (July 30, 2007) the wedding will be in Barbados, which is the first port of call on the cruise. We are still trying to see if the Royal Caribbean will have their beach site in San Juan, Puerto Rico ready by August of 2008. If they are able to have everything up and running by then (a hurricane destroyed their site) then we will try to switch the site to San Juan. This way it will make it easier for extended family members and friends to come to Puerto Rico for the wedding and board the ship for the party as non-sailing members.

We hope to see you there.

Sincerely,
Jonathan & Gia
